On Feburary 10th, 1865, Milo is enlisted in Company C, Wisconsin 49th Infantry, as listed on the Roster of Wisconsin Volunteers: War of the Rebellion. He is ranked Corporal as enlistment. He was mustered out on the 1st of November, 1865 (9). By the next census in 1870, the family was living in Milton, Rock County, Wisconsin (2). Shortly after the census, Rebecca died (4), leaving Milo to care for Frank on his own.
On the 25th of November, 1875, Milo marries Lucy M. Quick in Mason city, Iowa (5). Three years later they have their first child together, Willis Clark Collins. In the 1880 census, the three of them are living in Milton, Rock County, Wisconsin (6). By 1900, Milo and Lucy have moved to 8 Fulton Street, Edgerton, Rock County, Wisconsin (7). In the 1910 census they are listed as owning their home in Edgerton on Main Street (8).
Milo died in 1914 and was buried in Fassett Cemetery, Edgerton, Rock County, Wisconsin 3.
